On your honor
Boy Scout Troop 413 from New Braunfels, Texas spent a few hours learning how to perform basic moves associated with posting the colors. Reservists with the 433rd Airlift Wing, all members of the Lackland Base Honor Guard, volunteered the day to instruct the boys on October 25, 2008. The boys learned proper marching, facing movements and how to carry the rifles and the flags. Wing members said the boys worked hard and showed determination and that they would volunteer to do it again because of the personal satisfaction they gained during the instruction day. Troop 413 also toured the Inter-American Air Forces Academy training aircraft after their training and a park clean-up project on Lackland. (U.S. Air Force Courtesy Photo)

More than a walk on the ramp
An Early morning walk on the 433rd Airlift Wing's C-5 parking ramp is more than a stroll. Wing members pay special attention to the ramp surface searching for any debris that could cause Foreign Object Damage. The prevention of FOD damage is a daily event for flight-line workers, but each Monday, members from all accross the wing join in and perform a FOD walk that covers every inch of the paved parking area.
