Foreign pilots from DLIFLC learn about flying C-5A Galaxy
Two pilots from Brazil (center) and Indonesia (right), learn about the fire-suppression control panel on the C-5A Galaxy from 2nd Lt. Mike Blakley. Blakley is a C-5A pilot assigned to the 68th Airlift Squadron, 433rd Airlift Wing. Both pilots are students at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center located on Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. Pilots visited the wing to learn more about flying the C-5 from those pilots who actually fly the massive jet.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Alamo Wing Top Three gathered bikes and safety equipment to donate to children in need. 433rd "Alamo Wing" leadership, Honorary Commanders attend Christmas concert
Lt. Col. Michael Webb, commander of the 433rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, joins his Honorary Commander, Otis Scott, and his wife, Rosalinda, at the annual Holiday in Blue concert, held Dec. 9, at the Edgewood Theater for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas. Sponsored by the U.S. Air Force Band of the West, the concert is a staple in the local holiday entertainment schedule. The Honorary Commanders program, sponsored by 433rd AW commander, Col. Jeffrey T. Pennington, partners wing leadership with local and area civic and business leaders to cultivate and educate them about the wing's mission in the Air Force Reserve, the U.S. Air Force, and the national defense.

IAAFA students visit Alamo Wing
Over 100 students from the Inter-American Air Forces Academy, located at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, climb inside a massive C-5A Galaxy assigned to the 433rd Airlifit Wing, an Air Force Reserve unit also located at JBSA-Lackland on Nov. 15. Since 1993, IAAFA students have visited the "Alamo Wing" maintenance shops as part of their aircraft-maintenance and logistics studies. Since 1942, IAAFA has conducted international training in the Spanish language, forging ties with Latin American military, national police and governmental agencies. The school continues to remove language and cultural barriers by building partnerships between the U.S. and countries in the North and South American continents, Central America and the Caribbean region.
