From Blue to Red

During a recent party for the family members of deployed Alamo Wing security forces Airmen, Sergeant Condell traded Air Force blue for Santa Red to entertain children like 17-month-old Joseph Peche who's father is currently serving in Iraq. Aeromedical Evacuation Legacy
Normally, a bronze bust of the inductee is placed in the Mobility Memorial Park at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. But this time, a plaque is displayed with a photo. The photo is set at dusk as a parked ambulance with patients is being offloaded and carried by a silhouetted medical team onto a cargo ramp of an evacuation aircraft that is about to take off for a hospital at a safe haven. A sense of urgency and teamwork is conveyed in the photo, with the evacuation aircraft racing not just against the setting sun falling into darkness, but against death.
