The Akeroyd Blood Donor Center at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston is in urgent need of blood donors. We also take walk-in whole blood donors from 4:30 to 10 a.m. weekdays (closed on federal holidays). If interested in donating plasma or platelets, please call 210-295-4655 to schedule. Due to additional screening requirements those appointments cannot be made online.

The Air Force selects LIFT Airborne Technologies after Air Combat Command initiated the search for a next-generation helmet in April. After more than 30 years of long-term neck and back injuries due to the current helmet, aircrew Airmen look forward to greater applicability and better fitting helmets for operators of all sizes, genders and ethnicities.
