Air Force Junior ROTC students from United High School, Laredo, Texas, had a chance to see one of the 433rd Airlift Wing's C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft Oct. 21 at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. Col. David A. Scott, 433rd AW vice commander, began the tour by giving the students a mission briefing about the Alamo Wing. After the briefing, students toured the aircraft by walking through the cargo hold and visiting the flight deck. For many students this was the first time to see a military aircraft up-close.

“My students have been anticipating this trip for the last month and a half; this is one of the highlights of their entire year,” said retired Air Force Maj. Jose Loya, United High School senior aerospace science instructor, “This is a huge motivation for them and a great opportunity to see what the Air Force Reserve is all about.”

Students also watched an Air Force basic training graduation and had lunch at the Live Oak Inn dining facility on base.
