Close to 50 "War Eagles" from across the United States arrived in San Antonio, Oct. 3 for their annual VP-16 reunion.  One of their stops in the Alamo city was a visit to the 433rd Airlift Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas to see the Alamo Wing's massive C-5A Galaxy aircraft.  Along with viewing the C-5A, War Eagles of VP-16 from Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida flew into Kelly's Airfield Annex in a P-8A Poseidon to join the tour and the Reunion.

Commanding Officer Daniel Papp, VP-16 and his crew parked the P-8A next to one of the 433rd Airlift Wing's C-5As, so reunion members and aircrew could tour each aircraft with ease.

The mission of VP-16 is to operate Maritime patrol aircraft in support of national interests. The P-8A, the aircraft they manned, is a militarized Boeing 737, used for maritime patrol and Anti-Submarine Warfare.
