Williams, 433rd Mission Support Group commander, officiated the change of command ceremony where Lt. Col. Clifford B. Harris relinquished command of the 26th Aerial Port Squadron to Lt. Col. Eric L. Chancellor here Oct. 5. Williams spoke briefly about Chancellor’s accomplishments and why is the right choice for this assignment. “If you don’t know, Eric was deployed last year as the commander of the 407th (Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron) downrange,” said Williams. “He did that well enough. He won recognition as the Air Force Reserve Command’s logistics readiness officer of the year for 2018.” Following Williams, Chancellor spoke to the squadron regarding his expectations. “I want you to let three things marinate,” said Chancellor. “Number one. Be engaged while you’re here. Train like you’re deploying tomorrow. Be efficient and challenge the organization to be better. Number two, be innovative and show up with a growth mindset. This is not the Air Force of yesterday, this is the Air Force of the future and we’re faced with many obstacles and fewer resources, so we have to have an innovative spirit. You have so many experiences outside of this organization that you can bring here and make it better. Number three, be the best version of you. Know your ‘why,’ have a purpose, be goal-oriented and continuously measure your ‘why,’ to make sure you don’t need to recalibrate.” From August 2014 to March 2015, Chancellor was assigned to the 26th APS as the Aircraft Services flight commander. Prior to this assignment he was the 74th APS operations officer.
