  • Changes to TSP coming in December

    According to the thrift savings plan website, all TSP participants must have validated contact information and use two-step authentication to log into the TSP My Account beginning in December 2019.
  • Civilian developmental education and strategic leader program application window opens Jan. 13

    The application window for Civilian Developmental Education, Civilian Strategic Leader and the Engineer and Scientist Exchange Program assignments is Jan. 13 through Feb. 28, 2020, which is earlier than in previous years. Eligible Air Force civilians will use MyVECTOR to apply for CDE for the 2021 academic year, CSLP and the ESE program assignments for the 2021 fiscal year.
  • AFMC to host Virtual Career Fair

    The Air Force Materiel Command, in conjunction with the Air Force Personnel Center, will host a Virtual Career Fair Dec. 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST. The event will focus on filling more than 100 vacancies across the command in career fields to include contracting, financial management, force support, information technology, intelligence, logistics, medical, program management, public affairs, safety and security.
  • Texas CAP units tour C-5M, units

    The 45 Texas Wing CAP members from Texas 187 Alamo Composite Squadron, Texas 351 Pegasus Composite Squadron, and Texas 345 David Lee “Tex” Hill Composite Squadron, toured a C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft, the engine shop and the 733rd Training Squadron’s C-5M school house.

  • Air Force Chief of Staff outlines risks of budget uncertainties

    Funding for the entire U.S. government expires Nov. 22 at 12:01 a.m. unless Congress acts. While progress on forging a budget agreement has been slow, congressional aides say there is movement toward approving a short-term spending plan that keeps the government running into December.
  • AF surgeon general mobilization assistant, 433rd Airlift Wing alumni, visits medical group

    Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Josef Schmid III, mobilization assistant to the surgeon general of the Air Force, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., visited with 433rd AW senior leaders and 433rd Medical Group members here Nov. 2. The general, who was assigned to two squadrons in the Alamo Wing medical group from 2000 to 2007, met with Reserve Citizen Airmen from several organizations within the group while touring the group’s new facility.
  • Alamo Wing pauses for resiliency

    The 433rd Airlift Wing participated in a “Resilience Tactical Pause” here Nov. 3. More than 1500 Alamo Wing enlisted, officer, and civilian members arrived to the Air Force Basic Military Training’s Basic Expeditionary Airman Skills Training site at the Medina Annex on the morning of a bright and breezy day.

  • Seasoning training helps Reservists stay mission-ready

    Reserve Citizen Airmen must be mission ready and trained to the same standard as their active duty counterparts which is facilitated by the seasoning training program that helps Reservists to meet their initial mobilization requirement and skill level.
