2/28/2012 - LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Col. Jeffrey T. Pennington has been named the new commander of the 433rd Airlift Wing at Lackland Air Force Base. Col. Pennington will assume command in late May 2012.
Colonel Jeffrey T. Pennington is the currently the commander of the 911th Airlift Wing, Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Coraopolis, Pa. As installation commander, he is the senior officer responsible for the wing organization, which includes authorized manning of 1,263 Air Force Reserve members and approximately 320 civilian employees (including more than 184 dual-status Air Reserve Technicians). He is responsible for maintaining the wing's combat capability whose mission is to support the C-130 H2 aircraft.
"Col Pennington is an outstanding leader whom I happen to know personally and professionally, " said Col. Aaron Vangelisti, 433rd Airlift Wing interim commander. "We could not find a better fit for the Alamo Wing."
A formal change of command time and location will be announced in the future.
