Air Force Recognizes Energy Action Month 2019
October is Energy Action Month, an opportunity to highlight why energy is a critical enabler to combat capability for the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense, and to encourage smarter energy use and management for installations, ground vehicles, and aircraft. Unveiled this year, the Air Force theme of “Energy Able, Mission Capable” educates Airmen about the importance of energy readiness and resilience for the global mission.

Alamo Wing reinforces resiliency
For some, all types of fitness may take a backseat during the holiday season, but the Air Force Reserve wants to keep readiness in focus. Reserve Citizen Airmen should consciously practice self-care, and one way to strengthen well-being and prepare for life’s troubles is to ensure the four pillars of Comprehensive Airman Fitness are strong. “Resiliency is the ability to know what to do and when to do it when you need something—mentally, socially, spiritually, and physically,” said Daniel Pickel, 433rd Airlift Wing director of psychological health.

Sun sets on Air Force Academy-hosted 2018 Warrior Games
As the sun sets behind the Colorado Springs mountaintops, the flame lit ceremoniously a week earlier to signify the official start of the 2018 Department of Defense Warrior Games is extinguished, bringing to close the eighth annual iteration of the Games on June 9.
