Chief Master Sgt. Bobby L. Gonshor was the Wing Senior enlisted advisor at one point. In 1969 he was selected as one of 12 outstanding Airman of the Year in the Air Force. Chief Gonshor was assigned to Kelly AFB and later was promoted to the rank of Colonel. He passed away in 2006. The officer in the picture is Brig. Gen. The new $7.4 million 433rd Headquarters Building, which is scheduled to open in late summer, was built according to standards established by the U.S. Green Building Council based in Washington, D.C. Master Sergeant Bob Kane, the last enlisted member from the 433rd Airlift Wing to serve in the Vietnam War, retired on Saturday, Jan. 7 from the Air Force Reserve. Kane joined the Air Force in August 1970 and was a C-130 Hercules mechanic during the conflict.

Retired Lt. Gen. James E. Sherrard III, is all smiles after being presented the official military coin commemorating the 433rd Airlift Wing 60th Anniversary. Sherrard was the official guest speaker at the Alamo Wing's anniversary dinner held Sept. 10, 2011, at the Gateway Club at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
