The C-5 Galaxy is the largest aircraft in the Air Force inventory. The Alamo Wing operates and maintains 16 of the giants at Lackland Air Force Base. In addition to flying missions in support of global requirements, the 433rd Airlift Wing is also home to the C-5 Formal Training unit and trains the future air crews for active duty, Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve.
