50th C-5 to recieve Avionics Modernization Program

Test pilots from Lockheed-Martin during a test flight of a C5-A Galaxy with new digital avionics as part of the Avionics Modernization Program. This is the 50th C-5A to receive the equipment upgrade. On its final voyage, a C-5A Galaxy aircraft, tail number, 90016 is being towed to its final resting place on the grounds of the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group's storage and maintenance facility, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. A C-5A from the 433rd Airlift Wing makes its final approach, July 9, 2014 to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group's storage and maintenance facility located on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. This C-5A, tail number 90016, is one of 23 aircraft that the Alamo Wing had in its inventory that are slowly being phased out to make way for the newer upgraded version of the aircraft, the C-5M Super Galaxy.
