Members of the 433rd Civil Engineering Squadron engage in convoy training under real and simulated battlefield conditions, donning various levels of mission oriented personal protective equipment in addition to helmets and body armor. They worked in shifts to keep the convoy to a manageable number of vehicles. The simulated casualty had to be loaded to a litter and carried a short distance to a waiting helicopter to be flown to safety. The exercise was done under the premise they were taking fire and were in a hostile environment. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Brian McGloin)
