Alert NCO finds the golden bolt
Staff Sgt. William Matthews, a member of the 433rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, found this golden bolt during a foreign object damage walk and was awarded for his efforts with a plaque presented by Col. Dale Andrews, 433rd Airlift Wing vice commander. FOD walks are held every Monday morning on the Lackland AFB flightline. Members of the Air Force Reserve's 433rd Airlift Wing and the 149th Fighter Wing of the Texas Air National Guard take part in the walks to ensure there are no objects on the flightline that could be sucked into a jet engine to damage it.
