Chief embraces his country's flag
Chief Master Sgt. Juan Villareal, the 433rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron’s first sergeant, embraces an American flag presented to him by the 433rd Airlift Wing Honor Guard during his retirement Feb. 12, at the Inter-American Air Forces Academy Auditorium at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The flag was one of more than a dozen gifts presented to Villareal during the ceremony. Villareal grew up in Laredo and graduated from Martin High School in 1976. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1978 and retired from active duty in 1992 as a master sergeant. After a six month break in service, Villareal joined the Air Force Reserve and remained a member of the Alamo Wing until February of this year, concluding 33-years of service.
