Maj. Jay Johnson, 433rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander and First Sergeant, Chief Master Sgt. Juan Villareal, stand at attention as members of the 433rd Airlift Wing’s Honor Guard, present the colors during Villareal’s retirement ceremony, Feb. 12 at the Inter-American Air Forces Academy Auditorium at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. During his 33 years of military service in the Air Force, Villareal from Laredo, Texas has received numerous military medals and awards. Villareal enlisted in the Air Force in 1978 and retired from active duty in 1992 as a master sergeant. After a six-month break in service, Villareal joined the Air Force Reserve and remained a member of the Alamo Wing until February of this year.
