Clean flight line means safe flightline

Lt. Col. Michael Ratcliff, 433rd Airlift Wing chief of safety, helps keep the C-5 Galaxies and other aircraft on the flight line on Lackland Air Force Base safe by removing some loose paint chips and debris during a FOD walk May 9, 2011. On average, approximately 40 members of the Alamo Wing sweep through an area measuring more than 687,000 feet in about a 30 to 45 minute time frame. FOD is an acronym that stands for foreign object debris. The Alamo Wing conducts FOD walks every Monday morning in order to protect aircraft on the flight line.
