Lt. Col. Edward Gruber assumes command of the 433rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron during a ceremony in the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Center auditorium, Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The 433rd Aeromedical Staging Squadron provides medical, logistics and administrative personnel and services to support a Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility (CASF). Support includes flight medicine, nursing, mental health, pharmacy, dietary services, and critical care augmentation services. They also provide emergency medical care and coordinate transportation for patients entering, en route and exiting the Aeromedical evacuation system. The squadron deploys in support of Department of Defense contingency operations worldwide and ensures unit personnel are trained and ready to meet wartime tasks.
