433rd TRS Raiders welcome unit’s first commander, alumni
(From left to right) Retired Col. Joseph Hearn, first commander for the 8050th Training Squadron; retired 1st Lt. Thomas Helm, 8050th TRS Training Superintendent; and retired Col. Eric Burgener, 8050th TRS Military Training Instructor, Section Supervisor and who later returned as deputy commander of the 433rd Training Squadron, were invited to tour the 433rd TRS on May 16, 2022, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, as part of Military Appreciation Month. Hearn stood up the 433rd TRS, formerly the 8050th TRS, under the U.S. Air Force Reserves on March 15, 1983.

433rd TRS Raiders welcome unit’s first commander, alumni

Eric Burgener, 8050th Training Squadron Military Training Instructor, Section Supervisor and who later returned as deputy commander of the 433rd Training Squadron; retired 1st Lt. Thomas Helm, 8050th TRS Training Superintendent; retired Col. Joseph Hearn, first commander for the 8050th TRS; and Col. Michelle Van Sickle, 433rd Medical Group commander and daughter of Hearn, look through the 433rd TRS historical scrapbook log that has been with the unit since it’s activation on March 15, 1983. All four were invited to tour the 433rd TRS May 16, 2022, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, as part of Military Appreciation Month. Hearn initially stood up the 433rd TRS, formerly the 8050th TRS, under the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
