Alamo Wing conducts training in Canyon Lake area

The Alamo Wing' s 68th and 356th Airlift Squadrons will be conducting aircrew qualification training in the Canyon Lake area, north of San Antonio on Friday, Oct. 2nd. Local residents can expect to see HH-60G Pavehawk helicopters flying around the Canyon Lake area between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m... They are part of the training. Air Force Reserve Command's 305th Rescue Squadron located at Davis Monthan AFB Ariz., is providing the rotor-wing support. The mission of the San Antonio based 433rd Airlift Wing includes operational missions and all Air Force C-5 aircrew training. The C-5 Formal Training Unit opened here in late 2007. The Wing' s C-5 FTU is directly responsible for getting the next generation of Reserve, active-duty and Air National Guard C-5 Galaxy aircrew members fully qualified as pilots, engineers and load masters.
