Moore becomes top Port Dawg Published April 3, 2016 By Senior Airman Bryan Swink 433rd Airlift Wing Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Airmen from the 26th Aerial Port Squadron bid farewell to their leader and welcomed their new commander during a change of command ceremony held here April 3. Lt. Col. Jason Exum relinquished command of the 26th APS after serving more than two years in this role. With his wife and four children sitting in the front row, he thanked them for their support and understanding and then spoke to the Port Dawg Airmen about the successes of the squadron over the last two years and thanked them for everything they have given to the unit. "I am grateful to everyone in here for all the hard work and dedication everyone has given to this great squadron," said Exum. "You have accomplished amazing things during my time here and I have no doubt you will continue that same level of professionalism and dedication in the future." The commander taking the reins of the squadron did not travel far to get to his new unit as he moved from one side of the flightline to the other. Maj. Jeremy Moore, previously the 433rd Logistics Readiness Squadron commander, is not new to the operations of an aerial port squadron. Moore has numerous stints with aerial port units as an officer and enlisted since he first enlisted in 1997, both stateside and while deployed. Most recently he served as an operations officer from August 2012 to January 2014 for the 73rd APS, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth, Texas. "It's a true honor to be given this opportunity to lead a squadron filled with such incredible men and women," said Moore. "I'm ready to get started and see what the future holds for the Port Dawgs of the 26th (Aerial Port Squadron)." Moore will now lead more than 200 Airmen with the primary mission of manning and augmenting both fixed and non-fixed Air Mobility Command aerial port operations.
