Wing holds Civilian Commander's Call Published Nov. 22, 2013 By Ms. Elsa Martinez 433rd Airlift Wing Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-Lackland -- Col. Jeffrey T. Pennington, 433rd Airlift Wing commander, hosted two civilian commander calls here Nov. 19 to share safety, charity, peformance and personnel matters pertinent to Air Reserve Technicians and federal civilians. Don Hall, 433rd AW Safety office, provided safety tips for the upcoming holiday season. Tech. Sgt. Dustin Mitchell, 433rd AW's Combined Federal Campaign representative, reminded attendees about contributing to the CFC campaign during the season of thanksgiving and good will. Diana Gutierrez, 802nd Mission Support Group employee relations specialist, reminded all attendees about the importance of the six-month feedback performance review which concludes Dec. 31. Maj. Wallace Collins, 433rd AW performance manager, invited attendees to share with his office any process-improvement procedures which could help their respective missions improve their efficiency and productivity. Beverly Ruiz, 802nd Force Support Squadron, addressed the coming re-structuring of wing maintenance personnel due to force restructuring. Ruiz stressed no positions have yet been identified and more details would be forthcoming. Pennington then took a moment to highlight civilian quarterly award winners. The winners are: First Quarter: Category I Andrea Dierkhising, 433rd Maintenance Group Category II Enersto Compean, 433rd MXG Category III Peter Springirth, 433rd Logistics Readiness Squadron Second Quarter: CAT I Rene Riojas, 433rd Force Support Squadron CAT II Steven Stophel, 356th Airlift Squadron CAT III Julia Valderas, 433rd LRS Third Quarter: CAT I Darren Pierce, 433rd Aerospace Medicine Squadron CAT II Tainelll Pettengill, 733rd Training Squadron CAT III Stephen Knight, 733rd TRS Pennington concluded the meeting by encouraging ARTs and civilians alike to be ready for the "Alamo Wing's" impending challenges and to be ready to provide combat ready Airmen and to be the best at the mission. "My mission here is to help you meet the mission," he said. "Things are going to change. We are dealing with the obstacles of sequestration and the budget. Organizations are used to having someone out on orders and that is going to change. Some of those additional duties will fall to you. You can do it."
