The 433rd Security Forces Squadron is AFRC's tip of the spear Published Feb. 21, 2014 By SMSgt Minnie Jones 433rd Airlift Wing Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas -- The 433rd Security forces Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas is the Air Force Reserve Command's winner of the 2013 Outstanding Security Forces Tenant Unit of the Year. The AFRC award is separated into two categories; the outstanding full-time unit and the outstanding tenant/associate unit. "I'm elated our Security Forces warriors received this prestigious recognition acknowledging their many sacrifices, contributions, achievements, and accomplishments," said Craig Petersen, 433rd Mission Support Group commander. "They are an awesome team of Air Force professionals, and I'm extremely proud of their unit. I offer their members my sincerest congratulations and best wishes for a job well done." This is the first time the 433rd SFS has won the award. Some of the unit's accomplishments include completing 48 tours or 5,828 duty days in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM/NEW DAWN & CORONET OAK: While deployed to Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, the 433rd SFS filled security forces manning shortfalls that proved vital to balancing the wing's force and key mission requirements.
