356th Airlift Squadron Commander completes fini-flight Published May 22, 2015 By Capt. Philip Cortez 433rd Airlift Wing JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND -- The skies were clear as Col. Jimmie "Pat" Brooks, 356th Airlift Squadron commander, completed his final flight here on May 21. The colonel's last flight (fini flight) follows a tradition in which aircrew members, upon completion of their final flight with the wing, are met and hosed down with water by their squadron's comrades, family and friends. "This was the culmination of the best 26 years of my life here at Lackland," stated Brooks. "All in the 433rd Alamo Wing!" Brooks served as the 356th airlift squadron commander December 2012 to May 2015, and he leaves the "Alamo Wing" to serve as the 908th Airlift Wing vice commander, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.
