Purvis, 74th Aerial Port Squadron superintendent of operations, retired from the Air Force here Jan. 6, after more than 30 years of military service. Purvis began his Air Force career in 1991 as an equipment management clerk with the 351st Supply Squadron at Whiteman AFB, Missouri. He served as a first sergeant in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2019, he attained the rank of chief master sergeant.
