John Bartrum, Mobilization Assistant to the Surgeon General of the Air Force and Space Force, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, visited the 433rd Airlift Wing, Nov. 4. Bartrum met with Airmen assigned to the 433rd Medical Group and 433rd Operations Group throughout the tour, discussing readiness and training. “The most important job I have is to be able to make sure I know what the Airmen are thinking, where they’re at, and to make sure we understand we have to be ready now,” he said. “I can tell the Airmen here are ready now and leaning forward.” The first stop of the visit was the flu shot roll out coordinated by the 433rd MDG. Bartrum then toured the 433rd Aerospace Evacuation Squadron and led a question-and-answer session for Airmen. “I work for all the medical Airmen,” said Bartrum. “If I’m going to work for the Airmen and support them, I need to know what their challenges are, what opportunities are out there, and how I can help facilitate improvements.” Bartrum also experienced the 433rd OG C-5M Super Galaxy flight simulator and concluded the visit with a 433rd MDG commander’s call.
