NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE USAF HOSTS EVENT-FILLED WWII COMMEMORATION

A three-day commemoration of World War II will begin on Saturday, June 4 and concludes on Monday, June 6. Visitors can tour the Traveling replica WWII Memorial, get an up-close look inside different visiting aircraft, observe a WWII era B-25 flyover and participate in the first public look-inside opportunity with the B-17F Memphis BelleTM.

Saturday, June 4

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. DC-3 Static Display on the museum runway

Shuttles will be available to transport visitors to see the aircraft on display. *weather dependent.

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Open Aircraft: Memphis BelleTM, trivia and other activities inside the museum’s WWII Gallery.

5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Living History Series Returns

VIP Reception and Into Flight Once More movie premiere.

Sunday, June 5

9 a.m. – B-25 flyover.

9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Traveling World War II Memorial replica open.

10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. DC-3 Static Display on the museum runway.

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Open Aircraft: Memphis BelleTM, trivia and other activities inside the museum’s WWII Gallery.

2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Pop-up concerts by the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight in the Memorial Park

(2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m.; 20 minute sets)

4:30p.m. – 5 p.m. DC-3s take-off from the museum runway. *weather dependent

 

Monday, June 6

 

9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Traveling World War II Memorial replica open.
