The Defense Commissary Agency requires patrons and employees at all commissary and DeCA facilities to wear a mask/face covering. This includes all DeCA facilities across Joint Base San Antonio.

According to the COVID-19 store policies at the DeCA website at  https://www.commissaries.com/coronavirus, “DeCA will adhere to a 100% masking policy for all persons within a DeCA facility, to include patrons, regardless of vaccination status. This requirement may be stricter than installation masking requirements in some locations. Persons who are not fully vaccinated also need to continue to physically distance consistent with applicable CDC and DOD Force Health Protection guidance.”

“Be assured, at all of our commissary locations worldwide, we are following CDC and DOD guidance, specifically regarding sanitary measures, social distancing and wearing masks,” said Bill Moore, DeCA director and CEO.

The website also states that “The agency requires health screenings for anyone who works in CONUS commissaries – including employees, baggers and affiliated contractors – before they start their shifts.”
