John McKaye, Air Force Reserve Command, director of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia visited 433rd Airlift Wing leadership and intelligence Reserve Citizen Airmen, May 1, here. The purpose of the visit was to meet the intelligence personnel in the field and learn about issues and concerns so that command-level leaders can provide more effective support. “You can’t replace the looking each other in the eyes, hearing the issues directly, and understanding the severity of concerns based on the questions that are asked,” said McKaye. “But when you actually talk to the intelligence members, they’ll tell you with emotion if it’s a significant issue, and you can’t get that through correspondence. Enlisted members also participated in a break-out session with Chief Master Sgt. Haisshia Havens, AFRC ISR, chief enlisted manager and MAJCOM functional manager. Havens also sought to address intelligence community issues and concerns. “I want to build an environment and climate of success and not failure, because those days are of the past,” said Havens. “I want to everyone to see and know that we are ready and united; because that’s how we’re going to be able to move forward and be successful.” During the visit to the 433rd AW, McKaye also took the opportunity to recognize four Alamo Wing members with the AFRC ISR A2 Directorate coin.
