433rd Airlift Wing member re-enlists last time in hometown on C-5M during air show Published Feb. 18, 2020 By Minnie Jones 433rd Airlift Wing/Public Affairs LAREDO, Texas -- Tech. Sgt. Jorge Aradillas, 433rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron ground equipment technician, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, had one more enlistment to do before he officially retires from the United States Air Force Reserve. Coincidently, his re-enlistment date of Feb. 15 fell on the day before the Laredo’s annual Stars and Stripes Air Show at the Laredo International Airport, and it just so happened that a 433rd Airlift Wing C-5M Super Galaxy was on display there at the show. Aradillas, from Laredo, thought what an excellent opportunity to re-enlist in his hometown on the wing’s massive aircraft. So, Aradillas gathered up the family, some from San Antonio and others from his hometown of Laredo, and boarded the C-5M. With his family, members from the 68th and 356th Airlift Squadrons, and an audience attending the pre-airshow surrounding him, he took his oath of enlistment for the last time. Lt. Col. John E. Sebesta, 68th Airlift Squadron pilot, the officiating officer said, “What a bonus of flying into Laredo for the airshow, and then re-enlisting a hometown member in front of his family and friends.”
