Col. Terry W. McClain, 433rd Airlift Wing commander, presented the 433rd Operations Group guidon to Col. James C. “JC” Miller signifying Miller’s assumption of command during a ceremony here Aug. 3.

During the ceremony, McClain talked about why he felt Miller was the right choice for this job.

“He cares, he’ll do everything he can to get the mission accomplished, except run maintenance into the ground getting a sortie off today when it is going to impact tomorrow’s mission,” said McClain. “He has the longer viewpoint in sight.”

After accepting the guidon, Miller had a few words for the audience.

“My goal for the Ops Group is to allow you to have a vision that is unobstructed, and to have an opportunity to go and do things you never thought you could do before,” said Miller.

Miller officially accepted and has been working in this position since June 14. Due to scheduling conflicts, the wing was not able to conduct the ceremony earlier.
