The 433rd Airlift Wing was named the recipient of the 2010 Raincross Trophy.

The Raincross Trophy has been in existence for 13 years and recognizes the work of aircrews assigned to wings under the 4th Air Force flag who display exceptional airmanship during an individual mission or sustained operations. This recent award marks the second time the Alamo Wing has been presented the prestigious award. The 433 AW was the first recipient of the award in1998.

"It was my honor to accept the Raincross Trophy, awarded to the outstanding unit in 4th Air Force, on behalf of the 3,000 plus citizen Airmen of the Alamo Wing," Col. David Hutchinson, 433rd Airlift Wing vice commander said.

The award honors excellence in the 4th Air Force by recognizing and celebrating the outstanding accomplishments and commitment of the 11 wings and two groups in 4th Air Force.

In a letter to the Alamo Wing, Col. Kenneth Lewis, Jr., 433rd Airlift Wing commander, said, "You all are performing your duties and carrying out your responsibilities in the most enthusiastic and professional manner I have ever witnessed. You have found ways to not only get the job, done but to improve the process and do things better, quicker and cheaper. Many examples exist in all areas of the wing to prove my point. You have done all these things in a climate of increased operations tempo, ORI preparation, decreased manning and decreased budgeting. You have set the bar extremely high. It is because of your positive attitudes, proactive problem solving and energetic work ethic that 4 AF has recognized you, the men and women of the 433rd Airlift Wing as the best wing in the numbered Air Force. Congratulations! You have won the Raincross trophy and I have never had the pleasure of being part of a more deserving and outstanding wing. Thank you for all you do." (Article by Master Sgt.
