433rd Maintenance Group welcomes new commander Published Oct. 14, 2018 By Tech. Sgt. Iram Carmona 433rd Airlift Wing JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- The 433rd Maintenance Group welcomed Lt. Col. Stuart L. Martin as its new commander October 13, 2018. Col. Thomas K. Smith Jr., 433rd Airlift Wing commander, presided over the change of command ceremony in the fuel cell hanger here. Martin recently returned from a six month deployment in Iraq where he was the deputy commander for the 447 Air Expeditionary Group. During the change of command, Smith recognized Martin’s skills as a commander. “Stuart, thank you for your outstanding performance of duties and accepting duty here as a group commander on the 433rd team.” After Martin assumed command, he spoke on his goals for the future of the unit. “As we move forward we will put in place manpower solutions and innovative ideas that will allows us to keep a sustainable battle rhythm,” said Martin. “I am truly grateful for this awesome opportunity and I am looking forward to this journey with all of you.” Col. Charles Pratt is the outgoing MXG commander. He is now serving at Randolph Air Force Base as a Professional Arms Center of Excellence instructor.
