The 433rd Security Forces Squadron welcomed its new commander during an assumption of command ceremony held here Oct. 14.

Maj. Matthew F. Darisse takes command of the 433rd Security Forces Squadron after leaving his post as deputy commander of the 439th Security Forces Squadron at Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts.

Col. David Enfield, 433rd Mission Support Group commander, presided over the ceremony and spoke about the many accolades the new commander had accomplished in his career.

“He has a history and expectation of excellence,” Enfield said. “Squadron command is one the greatest jobs in the Air Force. I know you will continue to excel,” he said.

Darisse began his career as an Airman 1st Class in 2003 after completing Air Transportation Technical School. He earned his commission in 2008 at the Air Force Officer Training School. He has two deployments serving in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Inherent Resolve.

“This is exactly where I want to be,” Darisse said. “I am so excited to be back in San Antonio, Texas joining this outstanding wing. Combat ready Airmen, anytime, anywhere,” the Boston native said.
