Air Force Academy cadets consider flying Super Galaxy Published June 25, 2017 433rd Airlift Wing Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Thirty-six Air Force Academy cadets descended on the Alamo Wing as they considered what it might be like to fly a C-5M Super Galaxy. The cadets are using their summer break to get a better understanding of the operational Air Force works. Currently, the cadets are shadowing Air Force military training instructors at the 37th Training Wing here. However, some cadets are considering loftier goals after touring the C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft. " I didn't really understand how massive this aircraft was until I saw it up close," said cadet Sang Ko. "I hope to be a fighter pilot one day, but to be honest I just want to fly something." The cadets received an opportunity to discuss the mission requirements of Citizen Airmen as well. The students were then given a full tour of the Air Force's largest aircraft. The cadets will take what they have learned this summer and apply those skills in their future endeavors as Air Force officers.
