Effective training requires readiness mindset

Reserve flight medics get wounded home
The 433rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron is getting the war wounded to medical facilities closer to their homes once they arrive in the U.S. The 433rd AES works with the detachment out of Scott AFB, Ill. for this rotation, while Travis AFB, Calif. and Andrews AFB, Md. are two other stateside bases receiving patients that need to be transported

Lackland gets two new squadrons
Two new squadrons were added to the 26 existing units of the Alamo Wing today in a ceremony marking the occasion. The 356th Airlift Squadron and the 733rd Training Squadron are part of the C-5 Formal Training Unit, Kelly Field, Lackland AFB, TX. Alamo Wing members are all business in their boots and BDUs. But catch a glimpse of them outside the military world, and sometimes it's a different ball game. At least one member of the 433rd Airlift Wing, has a passion for the New York Yankees baseball team that has him seeing stars, and may prove profitable if he plays his collected cards right.

Weather Closure Announced for Wednesday
Severe weather closure is in effect for today, Wednesday, Jan. 16, for Lackland AFB for all non-essential personnel with the 433rd Airlift Wing. Only mission essential and emergency personnel are required to report for duty.

Due to weather, Lackland AFB reporting will only require key personnel and those that live on-base to report in today, Tuesday January 16. Alamo Wing shines for Radiance Academy
About 100 students in 2nd through 12th grades, from the Radiance Academy and Shekinah Radiance Academy, recently visited the Alamo Wing for the grand tour of a C-5, complete with static load display. Students watched Senior Airman Greg Cortez, 26th Aerial Port Squadron, drive a one-and-a-half ton truck up the nose ramp and park inside the aircraft.
