    Local youths were celebrated as future aviators and STEM innovators at the Youth Aerospace Expo on Kelly Field here Nov. 16.The expo was organized to motivate and encourage youths’ interest in anything aerospace-related.

    Students participating in the STARBASE Kelly summer program here toured the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas, July 31. They received instruction and demonstrations in how the institute’s scientists use science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

    Fourteen students with the San Antonio Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc.’s Youth Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics-Aviation Program visited the 433rd Airlift Wing here July 12.

  • Baskin Elementary students attend Starbase Kelly

    Eighteen Mildred Baskin Elementary school students visited Starbase Kelly here Nov. 5. The Starbase Kelly team taught the students some basic concepts about aircraft and flight before the children toured a C-5M Super Galaxy.

    Forty third-grade students with Mildred Baskin Elementary School visited the 433rd Airlift Wing Oct. 19, 2018. During the tour, students received an overview of the C-5M Super Galaxy and then visited the C-5 engine shop.
