Col. Lisa M. Craig, Air Force Reserve Command director of manpower, personnel, and services, and Chief Master Sgts. Kelly M. Kruger, AFRC A1 superintendent and personnel functional manager, and Dan Kelly, AFRC services functional manager, visited the 433rd Airlift Wing here Aug. 3-4.

Craig visited several work centers, toured some remodeled facilities and met with many Airmen in the 433rd Force Support Squadron.

“My typical UTA visits out to the wings are to not only share the vision of Lt. Gen Scobee and his mission, but how the A1 and our talent management, personnel, and services can help wings be more combat ready,” said Craig. “We also work with the force support squadrons and commander support staffs to teach them what they need to worry about in regard to their UTC readiness as well as their support to the rest of the wing… The people are the mission.”

During her visit, Craig coined 433rd FSS members Master Sgt. Brian Boblett and Staff Sgt. Chelsea Smith for their outstanding work. Two other 433rd FSS members, Tech. Sgt. Christina Kaun and Senior Airman Perla Campos, were recognized, but not present to receive their coins.

Kruger and Kelly met with the Alamo Wing Chief’s Group, and spent some time discussing challenges with Airmen in the work centers.

“We go talk to all the people in the work centers,” said Kelly. “We have a lunch meeting with them. We give them a view from the top, some things we have in the making.”

Kelly recommended members prepare and submit their Reserve enlisted development plans in the virtual Personnel Center.

“Focus on enlisted development, especially technical sergeant through chief, get into vPC and do your R-EDP,” said Kelly. “Even if you’re a traditional Citizen Airman who does all your time at one base, it can be helpful to steer your career.”

Craig, who was assigned as the 433rd Missions Support Group commander from 2014 to 2016, talked about what returning meant to her.

“I feel like I am still a part of the Alamo Wing family, so for me this is part of coming home,” said Craig. “Seeing the progress they’ve made here has been the highlight of my weekend.”

During the visit, Craig also officiated a retirement ceremony for longstanding wing member Chief Master Sgt. Debra Kelly, 74th Aerial Port Squadron chief enlisted manager.
