The 433rd Airlift Wing held its 19th annual Employers' Day Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas , Sat., Dec. 8, 2012. The event, held in co-operation with Texas Committee of Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve, helped employers better understand the time and sacrifice their employees invest in their role as Air Force reservists. Civilian bosses of wing reservists flew aboard an Alamo Wing C-5A Galaxy, the largest aircraft in the U.S. Air Force inventory, and witnessed an in-flight aerial refueling mission with a KC-135 Stratotanker over West Texas. During the 433rd Airlift Wing's 18th annual Bosses' Day, civilian employers look on while Master Sgt. Albert Hopkins, a jet engine mechanic with the 433rd Populsion Flight gives information on a Turbo Fan Engine. As many employers stood next to the fan to get pictures taken they discussed the massive size of the fan. The employers were invited by their Reservist employees to participate in Bosses day, it gives them a chance to see what exactly their employees do when they are away for duty. Civilian employers of Reservists and Guardsmen visit the Alamo Wing.

Civilian employers of Reservists and Guardsmen from Connecticut and Massachusetts visit the 433rd Airlift Wing during a recent Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve boss lift. A Department of Defense agency, ESGR was established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain active support from all public and private employers for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve. Volunteers of ESGR provide free education, consultation, and mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve component members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment.
