433 AW Jay Leno Art Contest 1st Place artwork

Shown here is the first-place-winning painting of the 433rd Airlift Wing Jay Leno Art Contest created by Army 1st Lt. Kyle Hermanson, from the 69th Air Defense Brigade at Ft. Hood, Texas. The art contest was hosted by the 433rd Airlift Wing as part of local promotional campaign for Jay Leno's, "Tour for the Troops" performance at Lackland's base operations hangar. "Tour for the Troops," is part of the Air Force Reserve Command's "Get 1 Now," recruiting program. Lt. Hermanson said it took him to three days to finish the 18 x 24-inch; acrylic and ink art work. David Hutchinson, 433rd Airlift Wing vice commander, presents him the first-place winning artwork of the 433 AW Jay Leno Art Contest. The painting was presented in front of more than 2,000 guests attending a free comedic performance by the TV host and comedian Aug. 6, 2011, at the base operations hangar, Bldg. 1610, at the Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The painting was created by Army 1st Lt. Kyle Hermanson, from the 69th Air Defense Brigade at Ft. The 2010 Raincross Trophy marks the second time the Alamo Wing has been presented the prestigious award. The Raincross Trophy has been in existence for 13 years and recognizes the work of aircrews assigned to wings under the 4th Air Force flag who display exceptional airmanship during an individual mission or sustained operations.
