No lack of food choices at wing anniversary dinner
Airman 1st Class Katherine Menchaca from the 433rd Operational Support Squadron, prepares a personal salad during the 433rd Airlift Wing 60th Anniversary Dinner held Sept. 10, 2011, at the Gateway Club on Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Gateway Club Executive Chef Lazaro Carrazco and his team of three cooks prepared a buffet-style meal for more than 475 guests in less than 24 hours. Out with the old
The Battle Dress Uniform, which served as the U.S. Air Force’s primary utility uniform since the early 1980s, is scheduled to officially phase out Nov. 1, 2011.

Alamo Wing Airman named one of 12 outstanding Airmen of 2010
Technical Sgt. Ricardo Chavez cradles the large trophy presented to him as the Air Force Reserve Command Outstanding NCO for 2010. He subsequently was named one of the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the year for 2010 at the Air Force level. Air Force Reserve Command honored its Outstanding Airmen of 2010 during an awards banquet at Kissimmee, Fla., Aug. 16, 2011.Chavez is a master military training instructor and a reservist with the 433rd Training Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, which now forms part of Joint Base San Antonio. Chavez serves fulltime on an Active Guard and Reserve tour of duty as the 737th Training Support Squadron unit training manager. The unit is Air Force basic military training's largest squadron with more than 150 people. Besides his MTI duties, Chavez is responsible for the overall management of the unit's training program.
