We Remember

Memorial Day weekend started on Thursday at the 433rd Airlift Wing. Though many Airmen were still working, about 100 Airmen and family members attended a ceremony commemorating 433rd Airlift Wing members who lost their lives in the line of Duty. It's not over 'til the paperwork is complete

The job of maintaining and repairing the Alamo Wing's fleet of C-5A Galaxy aircraft is a never ending job that isn't complete until the paperwork is done. Master Sgt. Wayne Jenerou, an aircraft mechanic and supervisor with the 433rd Maintenance Group, checks over the aircraft forms to make sure findings from a recent inspection are properly documented. The Alamo Wing flight line is always busy, even in the hours before the sun rises. On this early morning, a C-5A was being prepped for a photography shoot for the cover of Airman Magazine. The aircraft, one of the first to receive new instrumentation through the Avionics Modernization Program, was prepared for the morning shoot by maintainers from the 433rd Airlift Wing and Airmen from the 733rd Training Squadron. Though the aircraft wasn't actually being loaded for a mission, the photos are set up to help show some of the steps taken before an actual mission.
