The Honorary Commanders' Program is a civic outreach initiative hosted by the Wing Commander.

The purpose of the Honorary Commanders' Program is twofold: It allows our community partners to gain awareness of our important military mission, and it allows our military members and their units to learn more about the communities in which we live.

Integrating the community into the Alamo Wing family builds strong relationships vital to the future success of the Air Force Reserve.

433rd commanders and members benefit through increased association with the community and its leaders.

Current 433rd AW Honorary Commanders

Twenty-four community and business leaders have been selected for the 2012-2013 Honorary Commander Program.

Honorary Commanders are paired with commanders and senior leadership assigned to the "Alamo Wing" to educate them about the activities of the 433rd Airlift Wing and the Air Force Reserve and its vital role in the national defense. They meet periodically during their tenure for activities including luncheons, tours, orientation flights and other, special on- and off-base events.

The program fosters community support for the U.S. Air Force and especially for the hosting unit. The program hopes to educate the local business and civic community about the Air Force Reserve mission in national defense and encourages employers to support employees who are members of the Air Force Reserve and specifically the 433rd AW.
