The 433rd Airlift Wing, an Air Force Reserve unit located at Lackland AFB, starts the long Memorial Day weekend with a ceremony honoring the men and women from the Alamo Wing who lost their lives in performance of their military duties.

The ceremony, scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, honors the Alamo Wing Airmen, and all members of the military, who paid the ultimate price for freedom.  The event also marks the start of this weekend of remembrance. In addition to Friday’s ceremony, the public is encouraged to observe a moment of silence at 3:00 p.m. on Monday to honor all fallen heroes of our nation.

The Airmen of the 433rd AW currently serve in locations throughout the world in support of many ongoing operations including Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
