Maj. Eric L. Chancellor, 74th Aerial Port Squadron operations officer, was named the Air Force Reserve Command’s Outstanding Logistics Readiness Field Grade Officer of the Year for 2018.

While deployed to Southwest Asia, Chancellor managed the deployment and redeployment of two expeditionary fighter squadrons and 2,200 passengers. He also oversaw a rapid improvement event, which saved deploying members time by changing how mobility bags are issued.

Chancellor said he intends on sharing lessons learned and continuing to grow.

“I always strive to be the best Airman,” said Chancellor. “I recently returned from a deployment to an undisclosed location and I plan to share my experiences and key learnings with my squadron. I also want to challenge the status quo thought processes within the 433rd Airlift Wing.  We can always strive to be better than yesterday.”

Chancellor’s leadership agreed with the recognition.

“Major Chancellor is an outstanding officer with a bright future in our command,” said Lt. Col. Travis J. Hatley, 74th APS commander. “He continues to demonstrate our squadron’s vision statement of ‘Professional Accountable Airmen’ in his day to day duties whether at home or aboard.”
